Oasis Park
Location: Euphrata, Washington
Commissioned by the Mayor of Ephrata in 1973, Oasis Park was designed to respond to run-off problems created by a leaky canal. The 30 acre park features a trout-stocked pond, 25 RV hookups, a 9-hole Par 3 golfcourse, and several picnic areas. Excess water from the canal is controlled by a pond wier and is diverted beneath an adjacent highway. Over time, this feature has supported the regeneration of nearby ecosystems. An existing building on site was retained and is currently used for storage, and many of the mature trees on site were kept; combined with additional trees planted during construction, Oasis Park is a haven for the people and wildlife of Ephrata.
